At Sunway Network, we specialize in advanced research and development across electronics, optics, and embedded systems, laying the technological foundation for the next generation of VR/AR hardware and software. Our mission is to push the boundaries of immersive technology through innovation, engineering precision, and cross-disciplinary integration.

Our journey in immersive technology began long before the industry trend. In 2018, Sunway Network developed one of the world’s first VR headsets with hand gesture and motion tracking, enabling natural interaction with virtual objects without the use of handheld controllers. The system integrated proprietary sensors and algorithms that recognized fine motor movements of the hands, creating a highly intuitive and realistic learning experience.

This pioneering solution was patented and presented at the China Hi-Tech Fair 2018 in Shenzhen — Asia’s largest technology exhibition — and was later featured on Hong Kong’s TVB Science Program, reaching a wide public audience. Alongside the hardware, our team created over 80 interactive educational experiments in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology, allowing students to perform lab tasks using only their hands. This approach reinforced muscle memory learning, a crucial aspect of manual and technical training.

From 2018 to 2021, Sunway Network operated as a startup within the world-class incubator Hong Kong Cyberport, participating in the Cyberport Incubation Programme (CIP). The project’s success led to commercial deployments in Hong Kong and Thailand, establishing the company as a preferred technology provider for the public sector in Hong Kong and Macao.

Today, Sunway Network continues its commitment to innovation by developing next-generation AR goggles for professional use in industry, safety, and rescue operations. These advanced devices incorporate multispectral sensors, waveguide-based OLED displays, and custom-designed optics, representing a new era of precision and performance in augmented reality technology.
